Description
Educa amb l'Art is a course that teaches you to enrich, enhance and give a new dimension to your work as an educator through the different artistic disciplines. When art enters everyday life, you can tell! It is a course in performing arts, music and visual arts to learn how culture can help us in our daily life. Aimed at social and educational action professionals.
The training takes place in theatres, auditoriums, museums and cultural spaces in Barcelona, Lleida, Girona, Sabadell and Reus. Each session is designed by the venue's educational service together with Apropa Cultura, with trainers in art and mediation who have extensive professional experience. This year we will organise sessions at the Monestir de Pedralbes, the Fundació Joan Brossa, the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, the Teatre Lliure, the Fundació KBR, L'Auditori, the Teatre Bartrina in Reus, the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, the Fundació Sorigué in Lleida... and many other venues!
Course 2025/26: Opening the senses
How many senses do you know? Which ones guide you, root you, sustain you?
This course is an invitation to open the senses —the familiar ones and the less familiar— to broaden the way we perceive, inhabit the body, exist in the world and accompany others in the field of social and educational action.
We will talk about sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch... but we will also discover other senses: those related to movement, balance, temperature, pain, thirst, time... We will discover how the senses blend, transform and modulate according to each body, each path and each way of perceiving, loving or suffering.
The senses are a great gateway to the world; they work together to help us interpret what surrounds us and build bonds with our environment and with others.
We will explore how perceptual diversity —functional, cultural, gender, sensory— is a source of knowledge and creativity. And we will learn to recognise, hide, care for or grow the senses, in a literal but also symbolic sense: finding meaning in what we live, what we feel, and what we do with and for others.
The sensory sciences still debate how many senses we have and how they are defined. But beyond the scientific debate, this Educa amb l'Art 25-26 course invites us to redraw our own map of the senses —broader, more nuanced, more alive—, recognising other ways of perceiving, other ways of being present and inhabiting the world.
To make room, through art, for everything we do not yet know we can come to feel.
Educa amb l'Art methodology
The Educa amb l'Art training is practical and dynamic; the goal is for us to learn to use the arts in our daily life while also lifting our mood and motivation. Three approaches are always involved:
- Individual and group experimentation.
- Personal experience.
- A theoretical framework to aid understanding, dialogue and sharing.

Frequently asked questions
- Who is it for? For social and educational action professionals registered with the Apropa Cultura programme.
- What time? Always from 10am to 2pm. There are sessions on weekdays and on Saturdays.
- Do I have to sign up for all the sessions? No, everyone can sign up for the different sessions separately.
- I am not an artist, will I feel comfortable? Yes! No artistic knowledge is needed, just the desire to enjoy, share and learn!
- Can I come alone? Yes, at the training you will meet people who, like you, believe in the arts. We do recommend, though, that you come with a companion, so you can put into practice everything you learn.
