The project
Opening up rehearsals gives social centres and organisations access to the rehearsals of orchestras, companies and arts ensembles, in a less formal setting and often in the morning.
The initiative started as a pilot in 2022, when L'Auditori opened the OBC's rehearsals to organisations working with people experiencing homelessness.

Open rehearsals make access possible in the morning and in more suitable conditions.
Barriers of cultural formality
A rehearsal is a closer, less solemn setting and easier to approach.
Barriers of pace and length
They allow the length of the visit to be adapted: attending part of it, taking a break or leaving early.
Barriers in the relationship with venues
They create a gentler first experience of the cultural space.

A flexible, approachable way into live music and the performing arts, extended to further venues and groups.
